The hotly anticipated Super Meteor 650 from Royal Enfield has finally been covered at EICMA 2022. It is available in two versions, the tourer and the standard. We now have all the specifications for the flagship Royal Enfield cruiser, even though details were still being gathered before its launch.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 engine
The Super Meteor 650’s centerpiece is the 650cc parallel twin, which debuted in the Interceptor or Continental GT 650. Most people will notice the difference in the exhaust pipes. They don’t stick out as much, which makes it easier for the bike to fit through tight spaces.
Royal Enfield also did a great job hiding the catalytic converters beneath the motorcycle. The parallel-twin engine, 648cc, is oil and air-cooled and produces 47 horsepower at 7,250rpm and 52 Nm at 5,650rpm. The output figures are identical, but the torque is 500rpm lower in the rev range than the 650 twins. Royal Enfield claims they used bespoke mapping for the Super Meteor 650, and that 80 percent its peak torque figure arrives at only 2,500rpm.
